The Swamp Fox quarterback is looking strong entering the summer.
Rising senior Steven Duncan had impressive showings during Elite 11 camps this spring. Duncan placed 13th at the first combine he attended and then moved all the way up to third out of 102 QBs competing during a combine held in May. Only Jett Duffey of Lake Ridge High in Texas and Patrick O’Brien of San Juan Hills High in California rated better in the second combine.
Duncan graded out higher than any other South Carolina QB at both showcase events. The next closest in the second combine was Spartanburg QB Austin Scott, who placed ninth.
Ashley Ridge coach Kenny Walker says Duncan is drawing a lot of interest from colleges and he feels good about his QB coming out of spring practice.
“Steven had a good spring,” Walker said. “Hopefully working out this summer will make him even better. He is a competitor who wants to do what is needed to improve. He is willing to put his own time into becoming a better quarterback.”
At 6-5 and 230 pounds, Duncan has the build a lot of college programs look for. Last season, he completed 160 passes for 2,147 yards and 22 touchdowns.
