There is no doubt that we fans love our individual teams. I think sometimes we adults live vicariously through the sports acumen of our girls. We love the game (and them) and they love it too. Could it possibly get any better? Is it really all about the game with these young women? Please allow me to compliment the young women of the Union County High School Yellow Jackets softball team and perhaps introduce you to an aspect of them that few people know.
The team is currently comprised of 15 girls: 13 attend High School and 2 attend Middle School. Of the thirteen attending High School, 8 are members of Honor Societies (6 National Honor Society and 2 Beta Club). Two of the juniors are ranked 1 and 2 in their class and one freshman is ranked first in her class. They all give back to their community in various volunteer activities.
Proud? Heck Yeah! Blessed to have and support such fine young women? No doubt about it! Go Jackets!!
