Coach Jim Barnes (Union, Airport, Rock Hill) will be inducted into the SCACA Hall of Fame this evening in Greenville. He will be the first wrestling inductee into the Hall which goes back many years.
There is not enough space here to fully explain the impact that this man has had on the lives of young men over a 40 year career. Additionally, the foundation, history, and backbone of wrestling in SC rests upon the investment, sacrifice, and commitment of a few very dedicated coaches and supporters from many years ago, with Coach Barnes being one of them.
The younger generations of coaches, as well as those such as myself with several years under our belts owe a debt of gratitude to those who paved the way for us.
Congrats Coach Barnes. Thanks for all that you have done for me, as well as wrestling in our state.
