Question...what's your thoughts on Beckwith for CCU throwing a CG against TCU with 137 pitches? I know you're always warning against over use. Just wanted to know your thoughts.

I have absolutely no problem with it. Coastal does a good job of protecting arms through the season. Most college programs do. You would never see anything approaching that number from a Coastal pitcher during the regular season, and rarely from any college team The kid is 20-21 years old. He may not play beyond college. He's in the biggest game he will ever play in. Under those circumstances, I say go for it.

My problem is with the HS, Legion and travel coaches that do this repeatedly with 15, 16, 17, 18 year old kids who still have a baseball future ahead of them.
