Where is the new Bluffton school in this proposal? May River HS opens in 2016. Will affect Bluffton's enrollment as well.

Cane Bay will be stout 2016 season. I know alot of the Berkeley kids as well. It will come down to the winner of that game.

Just a thought here....

0-500 students - 1A
501 - 1000 students - 2A
1001 - 1500 students - 3A
1501-2000 students - 4A
2001 & Above - 5A

Makes it simple; cut and dry. Based off of 135 day numbers that will come out soon.

The problem is there are only 11 schools with over 2000 students on the old 135 numbers. My guess is you will see closer to a 1500 cut off for 5A.

And you will have one school with 1600 kids playing against schools with twice the amount of kids

Can't do it that way. By the constitution the classifications have to be divided as evenly as possible. So they will all have 41-42 schools.

They've been repeatedly quoted as saying the classifications won't be identical in size this time. I would expect 5A to be smaller and 1A to be bigger than 2A, 3A, and 4A.

And with no 1A mention and no mention of Christ Church in the 2A rankings, I take it they are remaining in 1A? Wow. I wonder if they can hit the 100+ mark in consecutive wins. Because when those smaller 1A schools have to pray that Daddy lets his little boy play football instead of milking the cows, and Christ Church has the working capital, budget, and recruitment options of some smaller D-3 college programs... well, then, who stands a chance against them? Nothing but respect for the Frost boys and the CC program (they are amazing coaches and do amazing things with and for those Christ Church boys), but you've got grown men beating on little boys. It's a shame.

I continue to see potential problems here, folks. Looking at the 45 day numbers... if they try to put 40-42 teams in 5A or in 1A there will be MASSIVE size differences again.

For example... just taking the top 40 teams will put schools with 1,600 playing against schools well over 2,000. In 1A it would be even worse, with schools as small as 170 playing schools with nearly 500.

I'm not sure when or why this issue became such a focal point, but there is no doubt that it is relevant in our athletics today. Coupled with the lack of reference by the Executive Committee about not splitting classifications for multiple state championships... we could potentially have 7, 8 or 9 State Champs now.

That may be what is said, but that is not what is in the constitution. To make a class smaller or larger than the others would require an amendment to the constitution, which can't happen until next March

What about 1A?

Putting 40 in 5A would mean a 1600 member school may face a 3900 member school in the playoffs. Not equal footing. The Executive Committee has the power to override the constitution of the league in some matters. Will be no problem to have classes with different numbers of teams.

I've done a little digging and exploring..if the 45 ADM's hold up, which I am told most only change by a +/- 50 to 100 kids, a lot of schools are not going to be happy were they are put...there would be 40 football playing schools in each classification, some schools will be looking at drives of 90 mins plus...as the ole saying goes "sometimes the grass isn't always greener on the other side"...

Aiken, S. Aiken and North Augusta have had a brutal amount of travel in their last few regions. It would be nice to have CSRA region other then OW if it holds up.

I wouldn't call driving from Aiken County to Lexington brutal, but a pretty much all-county region would be much better for them.
