Like everyone else, I don't know with 100% accuracy the state tournament seedings so don't use this as the final word. However we have posted this every year and been accurate each year. In the past, seedings have always been based on playoff record, and the tiebreaker being runs given up. So here goes. If the state tournament started today....
UPPER STATE
1. Union 3-0 (6)
2. Gaffney 3-0 (7)
3. Ft. Mill 3-0 (13)
4. Rock Hill 3-0 (14)
5. Inman 0-0 (0)
6. Greenville 3-1 (7)
7. Greenwood 3-1 (22)
8. Lancaster 3-2 (24)
LOWER STATE
1. Florence 3-0 (1)
2. Orangeburg 3-0 (2)
3. Chapin-Newberry 3-0 (3)
4. Horry 3-0 (24)
5. Sumter 0-0 (0)
6. Camden 3-1 (8)
7. Murrells Inlet 3-2 (36)
I don't know how they will view Inman and Sumter, either 3-0 or 0-0, but for this exercise, I will leave them as 0-0. So based on these seedings plus the second round match ups, day 1 of the state tournament would look like this, assuming higher seeds win (this will change daily).
(1) Union vs (4) Camden
(2) Chapin-Newberry vs (3) Rock Hill
(1) Florence vs (4) Inman
(2) Gaffney vs (3) Sumter
Again, don't use this as the end all be all. But this is the formula that's always been used since seeding began.
