Watched a Legion game tonight. 2 Outs. Runner on third. Hitter, a college kid, hits a moderately deep fly ball to the outfield. He jogs slowly towards first base. He gets approximately half way before the OF catches the ball, at which time he makes a right turn towards the dugout. (Would not have surprised me one bit if this OF had dropped the ball). Somewhere along the way this kids coach(es) and/or parents failed to teach the punk the right way to play the game. You're not a big leaguer kid. You're not nearly as big a deal as you think you are or you wouldn't be home playing Legion this summer. Play the game the right way or stay at home.
Not surprisingly, this is a kid who missed several games earlier in the summer so he could go on vacation.
