Lancaster dad here. Just now getting a look at schedule. See some really good teams playing this year. Don't know much about lower state teams and only limited knowledge about upper state teams.
We moved back up to 4A this year, Region III. Went from having to face Union County in region play to run ruling 3 region teams in 3 innings! We are finally not a young team, 3 seniors and 6 juniors starting. One of our pitchers has been out with illness, but was able to play this Tuesday, hopefully will be good to play here on out. We have been hitting the ball pretty well, had 6 home runs against South Pointe last week, but hard to tell how well because opponent pitching has not been great. We have had six different girls hit home runs this year, pretty sure we have never had a team at Lancaster do that.
Looking forward to seeing and playing against some good teams next week.
Anybody have info about Summerville (in pool with them) or other lower state teams?

Wow that's a good bit against one team. Didn't yall play york? And did yall hit any against them? What goes on in some regions is not anywhere close to what you might see in tournaments especially the azealia tournament. Usually some good teams in that. Good luck! !!

Beat York twice. 8-6, 4-2. If I remember correctly, hit one homer each game.
And, yes, MUCH better competition in Azalea. Will see Fort Mill, Byrnes, Clover, Daniel, West Ashley, Stratford, Wando, and others. Looking forward to watching some good softball games!

There will also be some bad teams as well usually is like that in those tournaments and most high school tournaments.

Lancaster had a good tournament, beat a good Summerville team by 1 run, beat a good team from Virginia 2-1, then lost on Tuesday to a good Berkeley team 6-5. Ended up playing Nations Ford in consolation game because of changing teams due to region competition and lost 4-2. We Played well first 4 games, did not look good in last game.
Berkeley is sharp, Virginia team might have had best pitching that we faced.
One of our pitchers did not travel because of illness.
