Boiling Springs visited Chapin High School for a non-region softball game. Chapin is a top 10 3A school, while BS is the same at 4A.

The facilities there are absolutely top shelf. A brand new 220' softball field with all the anemities. First rate sound system, superior umpires, and new construction going on all around the high school complex.

Most impressive is the people act with class. Quite welcoming, inviting, and a softball show with total respect for all the young lady softball players on both sides. The announcing, and music was done with taste, putting on a fabulous show and not to gain a competitive advantage, but to show honor for all.

Chapin had all the dignitaries, photographers, and reporting anyone could want. Can't say enough things positive as what was experienced by the visiting team.

The sightseeing just out of town is perhaps the best in the state. A small restaurant call the Frayed Knot serves fabulous food, at a reasonable cost, in a lakeside Lake Murray setting. Just up the road is Dreher Island state park. Most enjoyable to see the marina, campsites, and villas nestled on a small island with fresh water all around.

Most enjoyable. Would go back anytime the Lady Eagles would welcome our Lady Bulldogs again.

Re: Chapin High School

11-1; Chapin caught BS with hot bats on Wednesday night.

The Chapin SS (high D1) hit the longest ball of the night, to the base of CF 220' wall. The Chapin So. pitcher held BS at bay for a couple of innings in a most challenging game.

BS So. pitcher Mckenna Quinn is an absolute warrior. She has logged a bunch of innings this week against top shelf competition. Batting in the #4 spot for the lady bullldogs, grabbed a left rip-gap double. While rounding 1st, rolled her ankle. Each inning after that, in the circle, got progressively worse. Every inning the coaches looked her in the eyes ... how you doing? ... Quinn responds with steely eyed determination "I am fine". Top of 7th inning, Quinn at bat, hits a routine grounder, and CANNOT run. Her body is so soaked with injury and exhaustion. Bottom 7, coaches ask as she stands in the circle on one leg. "I am fine", she says.

BS bats get started in the 3rd with Jr. RF Jordan Smith, sizzling hot, gathering an RBI triple, and follows with a 2 RBI double. The rest start to pile on. Webber Roberts, Shay Reynolds, Myranda Dills. Balance of line-up for lady dawgs reach; Camry Taylor, Brooke Palmer, Calli Richards, and Emily Carter.

Friday night Mauldin gets the best of BS. Super competitive game as Mauldin covers 4-2 and puts BS into a tough playoff bracket against Clover and Blythewood (maybe I am wrong). A bunch of away games. But these Lady Bulldogs should be proud.

"We will be fine". Just ask McKenna Quinn.
