North Iredell High School will be hosting a wrestling tournament, the Raider Open on Saturday, September 6, 2014.


You do not need a card for this tournament, when you pre-register, you agree to the Waiver form during the process and Waivers will be on site as well to fill out for walk-ins.


This is an All ages tournament as well, as you can see below.


Newberry College will also be on hand to do a quick clinic before the tournament begins.


Event description:

Newberry College will be on hand to conduct a short clinic before wrestling begins, starting at 9 AM!


THIS WILL BE A ROUND ROBIN TOURNAMENT! Tenths will be dropped at the scale and we will group wrestlers as close as possible to get as many matches as we can.


ENTRY FEE: $20 for pre-registered wrestlers. Wrestlers MUST be pre-registered by 5PM on September 5th. Entry fee for wrestlers not pre-registered is $35. Entry fee for entering another division or weight is $15. Returned check fee is $25.Final registration and weigh-ins are 7-9 AM the morning of the tournament. Wrestling will begin as close to 10 AM as we can get.

◾MIDDLE SCHOOL (grades 7/8/9) (16 year olds must compete in high school) - 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 105, 115, 125, 135, 145, 155, 170, 190, 220, HWT
◾HIGH SCHOOL (grades 9/10/11/12) (19 or older must compete in college/open) - 106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145, 152, 160, 170,182, 195, 220, 285
◾OPEN (Out of high school) - 118, 124, 132, 140, 148, 156, 164, 174, 184, 197, 215, HWT


Tournament Director reserves the right to combine weight classes if necessary.

I hope everyone will consider this event for getting some much needed mat time before the Super 32 Qualifier the next week in Georgia!

Of if your waiting for the Sept 20 qualifier at Morehead High School in NC, there will be another Round Robin on Sept 13 at Providence Grove High School.

Several South Carolina wrestlers are registered, but it would be great to see some more getting out and getting in on the mat!

Thanks to all that came out to North Iredell!

Even with a computer glitch that delayed HS from starting with everything else, all wrestling was still done by 6:30 and there was 199 kids there and all Round Robin!!!!

Congratulations to the following State Champ Wrestling Club Members for their placements at the tournament!

As a team, we took 3rd in the High School Division with 12 wrestlers, finishing behind a team with 17 and a team with 19.
