Very little was said about the actual wrestling on state weekend. I thought we had some excellent matches in the semi and championship matches. Let's go that way with this thread. I'll repost mine:

106 – Aluyan-FD Congrats to him, Nice pick SButler
113 - Brassuer – Lex Good kid, gets it done w/o fanfare, puts his time in
120 - Aquino – Dor Great job, puts the time in, love his mama yelling to him
126 – Wilkins - RH Don’t blame the kid, they both wrestled hard, tough Freshman
132 – Chavis- BS Congrats to a good kid, puts his time in
138 - Leitten – FTM 3X, what can you say, hits the cross wrist tilt in his sleep
145 - Emery – RB Great job, easily showed how good he is
152 - Caspio – Dor Great job, fun to watch, exciting match
160 – Parker- FD Great job, tough as nails
170 – Parker-FD Great job, tough as nails in a nail biter
182 – Rojas-BS Great job, way to go out with success in football & wrestling
195 – Montgomery-DF Congrats to a good kid
220 – Trephan- AR Great job, only a soph
285 – Jackson-FD Great match with 2 of the best heavies I’ve seen

Takeaways

• Fort Dorchester will be tough for 2017
• Hillcrest has some hammers, hadn’t seen them much this year
• River Bluff-with one champ, showed what team is all about winning Dual Team State
• Rock Hill grinding it out, always tough

106 - Aluyan is a great wrestler. Glad he finally added the weight needed to not get out muscled by lesser wrestlers.
113- Jacob is the nicest kid off the mat but will kill you on it. Pound for pound he is the 2nd best wrestler in the state.
120- Aquino, hate what happened to the kid last year. Great to see him get that title this year.
126- Wilkins, if he wrestled Christopher 10 times, 8 of those probably end in OT. Great win for the freshman.
132- Chavis wrestled well and beat both 1 seeds to win it.
138- AJ, best wrestler in the state. Just adding to the status by winning with a broke toe
145- Emery earned it. Beast on top
152- Caspio wrestled well. Probably the most wide open bracket coming in
160- Parker, good match. Just a better wrestler than the NW kid
170- Parker - wow, what a match. Both kids deserved to win
182- Rojas is the man
195 - Montgomery, glad the senior got him one
220- Trephan is probably the 3rd best pound for pound wrestler in the state. Credit to Howard in this match. 1st year wrestler that made finals.
HWT - Jackson has put in the work the last three years. He is a bulldog on the mat.

- Hillcrest will be tough next year. Will be interesting to see how Dorman and BS bounce back after losing some great seniors. Look for RH and FM to reload.

- Fort D has 5 studs but they have to fill the other 9 spots to contend with River Bluff, Ashley Ridge,etc.
