I guess I will be the Killjoy on this thread....it doesn't matter how good these guys are unfortunately. The "good ole boy" system in our state reeks of over-hyped, over-rated, recycled head coaches who year in and year out get their brains beat out at one job, apply for a higher paying job and get it. Honestly, its like the US Government & the definition of insanity; keep doing the same things over & over & getting the same results. I will still hold out hope that one of these deserving men get their shot if they apply, but I doubt it. I know one on the list has applied at 2 jobs & has not been called for an interview on either. If your on this list keep your heads up and keep working, maybe one wise administrator will buck the trend & go his own way to hire you (Walhalla being the exception).
 
As in any business, it is often more about who you know than what you know. Coaches need to make as many friends as possible, and align themselves with at least a handful of people that can promote you when an opening presents itself. Now that still isn't going to help with the hires within the good ole boy system, so do your best to be one of the good ole boys in as many circles as possible.
