HIGHER GROUND SOFTBALL, an international leader for softball instruction, is conducting its
15th Annual SUPER Clinic on January 16-17, 2016 at Southern Pines Complex in DUBLIN, GA. An exceptionally strong, internationally recognized staff has again been secured and sessions for Coaches & Players will include lots of U PICK sessions with exciting hands-on activity. YOU will get two full days of extraordinary, meaningful instruction and learn to transfer those skills to game situations. YOU will meet lots of top college coaches, while learning at an outstanding facility with ten championship fields and a covered 200’x300’ arena. Two-day and one-day options are available.

The SUPER CLINIC is a MUST-ATTEND clinic for the serious player or coach.

  • Saturday - Sunday Players (13 & over): Hands-on, player-choice U PICK sessions for advanced & elite skills on both days. Players have active top-of-the-game sessions all day on Saturday (Defense) and Sunday (Offense). Players (8-12): Similar rotated format (Offense on Saturday and Defense on Sunday) with basic and intermediate skills. With superb fields, we provide instructor led games for all age groups. Please bring personal glove, bat, batting helmet, and catching equipment (if applicable). Full Access Coaches: Lots of special coaches sessions, very extensive handouts, and on-field instructional observation.
  • U-PICK Advanced/Elite and Basic/Intermediate Schedules - WE DO NOT ROTATE YOU AROUND! We provide LOTS of U-PICK sessions for coaches and players; multiple sessions and YOU get to choose what to attend in all age divisions. Age groups may also be sub-divided to better provide for high registrations.

  • Excellent clinic facility, with abundant outdoor areas and also indoor space, if needed. Bring both indoor and outdoor shoes.

    AGE DIVISIONS: Advanced/Elite - 13 & over; Intermediate - Ages 8-12; Grouped by ages, with possible sub-groups.
REGISTRATION: Bronze Level includes clinic attendance; Silver Level includes attendance plus choice of T-Shirt ($15 value); Gold Level includes attendance, T-Shirt ($15 value), and very extensive instructional handout materials. Player Advance Registration (1-day/2-day) is Bronze - $85/140; Silver - $95/150; Gold - $100/160. Full Access Coaches Advance Registration: (1-day/2-day) $75/95, with very extensive handouts. On-Site Registration for players or coaches is an additional $10.00. Special Team Discount (must include 5 or more players) $10.00 discount per player, with 1 coach FREE with 5 players and 2 coaches FREE with 8 or more players. EARLY BIRD BIRTHDAY Registration - Individuals, not applicable to team rate, paying on or before Bobby Simpson’s birthday on December 15, 2015 may deduct $10.00. Adults may attend at no charge, if simply sitting in spectator areas.

TONY BALDWIN - Assistant Coach & Recruiting Coordinator at University of Georgia; former assistant coach at University of North Carolina (2013 & 2014, helping nine players hit over .300 his first year) and University of Georgia (2011 & 2012); coached major college baseball for 14 years at Michigan State, Dartmouth, and Butler; former 4-year starting catcher, team captain, and All-MCC performer in major college baseball.

JIM BEITIA - Director of Softball Operations at Auburn University (2015 Women’s College World Series participant);former Director of Softball Operations at Arizona State; first Head Coach at University of Tennessee (1994-2001); former Head Coach of Spanish National Team; former Director of Player Development and Assistant Coach/General Manager of Carolina Diamonds in the National Pro Fastpitch League.

ANDREA BROWNING - Assistant Coach at University of North Florida; former assistant at Austin Peay State University (TN) and Belmont University (TN); All-Conference player at Lambuth University (TN), twice ranked in top ten nationally for NAIA; veteran instructor at Higher Ground SELECT CAMP and SUPER CLINIC; standout high school and travel coach in Florida; assisted Higher Ground in training U.S. Virgin Islands National Team.

MARIE FOGLE - Assistant Coach at Georgia Southern University; standout player at Georgia Southern with career .345 batting average, .553 slugging percentage, and 27 home runs; 3-time All-Southern Conference honoree who helped lead team to two conference championships; former high school and travel ball coach.

NICK FRENCH - Assistant Coach at University of Georgia; extensive background in college softball, having served on the staffs at University of Arizona, University of Memphis, Holy Cross, Simmons College (MA), Piedmont College (PA), and Emerson College (MA); began assisting travel teams in Massachusetts at age of 14 and took part in six national tournaments, sending many players on to college softball.

LSU STAFF MEMBER – LSU, a2012 & 2015 Women’s College World Series participant and 2015 NFCA South Region Staff of the Year(52-14 record) has confirmed that they will again be represented by Head Coach Beth Torina or an assistant coach, as they have been every year at one or more SUPER CLINICS since 2013.

DALTON RUER - Director of Cross Training Softball Instruction in Flowery Branch, Georgia, plus DVD instructor for numerous softball programs; contributing editor Softball Today Magazine; very popular instructor at past Higher Ground SELECT Camps and SUPER Clinics, especially in short game topics; international softball tour leader experience in Italy and Spain.

BOBBY SIMPSON - International experience in Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, England, Germany, Greece, Holland, Italy, Scotland, Sweden, and U.S. Virgin Islands; Head Coach of British Women's Fastpitch National Team (2001-2004), Gold Medal winner of 2004 Olympic Test Event in Greece; Pro (Reds & Royals) & college (Florida State) baseball coach & scout; former national exposure/showcase director at DI college and tournament sites; widely recognized for assisting many young players with improved mental skills.

ANNIE SMITH - Head Coach at Georgia Southern University; has won four Southern Conference Championships (2 season + 2 tournament); 15 years as assistant coach or associate head coach at University of Missouri and Mississippi State University; reached post season 10 times; certified NSCA Strength & Conditioning Specialist and Master’s Degree with emphasis in Sports Psychology; standout player at Grinnell College (IA).

MATT STONBRAKER - Successful Head Coach at Smiths Station High School (AL); tireless worker as multi-year Staff Assistant at Higher Ground SELECT Camps for Elite Skills; degree in Health and Human Performance from Auburn University.

LACEY WALDROP - 2014 USA Softball National Player of the Year (38 wins and 1.13 ERA); outstanding career at Florida State, being named NFCA All-American in 2013, 2014, and 2015; 3-time ACC Pitcher of the Year and 2-time all-ACC Academic Team; 2014 appearance in NCAA College Women’s World Series; member of 2015 Chicago Bandits National Pro Fastpitch League Champions; wrote blog for espnW during 2104 season.

TINA WHITLOCK - Assistant Coach at University of South Carolina; 2-time All-American and 4-time All-Conference at South Carolina; 3-year veteran of USA National Team; professional softball with Durham Dragons; former Head Coach at Lander University (SC) and LeMoyne University (NY), and assistant coach at University of South Carolina at Spartanburg, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and Mercer University (GA).
