For the second year in a row Union County Yellow Jackets prevail over the Red Foxes of Hartsville, Final score after 11 full innings of play, Union 10, Hartsville 7. Two definite championship teams and anyone who was there to watch the game got more than their money's worth. There were ties that went on forever, there was rough and tough play, there were players down due to hits from balls and tangles with the bases themselves. There were errors by both sides that could have turned the game one way or the other. There were questionable calls by one or more of the blues. I'm not convinced they knew the rules at all. There was a Union out at home without the catcher having the ball, why the Hartsville pitcher had to show her where it was but nonetheless the Union player was out. But all that is just part of the game in the end, so no real complaints.
Both teams played with heart and gave it all they had. Can't help but think we'll meet again. Thanks for the hospitality of the Hartsville team and fans.

Definitely the two best pitchers in the state. Both ladies handled the pressure of the calls and extended innings remarkably well and pitched awesome games (even if the only thing consistent about the strike zone was inconsistency itself). Two great teams that never gave up, with two strong leaders on the mound. Looking forward to following these ladies for years to come.
