Woodruff wins 5-4

Game was moved up to 5:00 to try and get it in before the rain. 8th Grader Madison Littlefield started the game for Woodruff due to Eliza Long's injury from the night before. She did a great job considering the struggles we continue to have defensively on the infield. Eventually the rain got to her and the game was tied at 3. Eliza came in to relieve her for the last couple of innings and Woodruff eventually won on a walk off single in the bottom of the 7th to score the winning run. It was a tough game for everyone, but especially the pitchers. It rained steadily throughout the game and all the pitchers struggled with control. If the wet ball wasn't bad enough the inch of mud caked on the bottom of their cleats made it difficult to plant their feet. Glad we got the game in, but wish it could have been under better conditions.

Broom's young pitcher has been thrown into the fire this year, but you can see the improvement from when we played them earlier in the year.
