BRUCE TAYLOR
Linebacker, Myrtle Beach High School
Class of 2008

Taylor was a middle linebacker prospect who captured the attention of the in-state schools but they could not land him, as he went to Virginia Tech for his collegiate career. He was part of a signing class from the Palmetto State that featured 12 four-star prospects, including NFL'ers A.J. Green, Daquan Bowers, Andre Ellington, and Robert Quinn. I remember Taylor as a big time hitter and many ball carriers were featured on his highlight film. He was a very physical defensive player with excellent instincts at the linebacker position and a tackling machine. He had close to 150 his senior year, 150 total during his junior season and preceded that with a stunning 205 the year before. He had an outstanding career with the Hokies and was drafted by the Bengals, released, and then signed by the Arizona Cardinals.
