four-year honor roll student carrying a 3.7 grade point average and is
ranked No. 30 in his senior class.

Vincent Hicklin to Newberry

Definitely a steal for Newberry. Hicklin has a D-1 body and elite athleticism. The ceiling is very high for this kid. Great pick-up Newberry

great pickup for Dave Davis- Vince will fit right in with his system- I see him over the ball immediately and trapping everywhere- also can come from behind and erase shots.

Jeremy- i am not picking at you- i mostly agree with all your posts- but if Vince had a D1 body and elite athleticism, wouldn't he be going D1? LOL

Benedict College head men's basketball coach Fred Watson announced the signing of Jose Roman-Angueira to a National Letter of Intent.

Roman-Angueira, a 6-foot-7 small forward, played for one season at Ridge
View High School for coach John Combs. He led the Blazers in scoring,

Carolina All-Star game. He also plays for the South Carolina Kings AAU
team.
Prior to moving to Columbia, he played at Shoemaker High School in
Killeen, Texas for coach Marc Minatrea, where he also led the team in
scoring, rebounding and blocked shots and was named All-District and
defensive MVP.

Jose Roman-Angueira to Benedict

I agree with jeremylin. The Hicklin kid from LR is ripped. He has a lean well built grown man body. He is undersized height-wise for his position as a power forward but he has D1-type athletic ability to make up for it. He's an incredible leaper and runs the floor like a deer. Definitely a steal for Newberry

Aiken High School senior Shawn Moore recently finished a
spectacular season for the boys' basketball team. He averaged close to
24 points per game to go with 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals and was named
to the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association Class AAAA
All-State team as well as being selected as the Aiken Standard Boys'
Basketball Player of the Year.

That impressive resume had several colleges interested in
adding the 17-year-old Moore to their programs. Suitors included
Newberry, Anderson, Spartanburg Methodist and Lincoln Memorial among
other schools. But in the end, Moore chose to stay near his family and
friends ? many of which turned out to see him sign his letter of intent
Wednesday ? when he accepted a scholarship from Paine College (NCAA D-II) in
Augusta.

A pair of 6-7 forwards are the latest additions to the 2013-14 Olney Central College men's basketball team. Rontavius

Hill, S.C., and Kevin Rowell, an All-Stater from Marion (S.C.) High
School, inked letters of intent recently to play for the Blue Knights
next season.
After catching 86 passes for 1,090 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior
on the gridiron, McClure averaged 16 points, eight rebounds, 2.4 blocks,
2.1 assists and 1.4 steals per game last winter for the Northwestern
Trojans.
McClure, a 2012 first-team All-State wideout, had football offers from
Marshall and Appalachian State while also receiving interest from
Clemson, North Carolina and South Carolina. He helped guide Northwestern
to a runner-up finish in the Class 4A Division II playoffs, thus
getting a late start on the hardwood, and played in the prestigious
Shrine Bowl game in mid-December at Spartanburg, S.C.
Rowell averaged a double-double (17.4 points and 12.7
rebounds) to go with four assists and 2.5 steals per game during his
senior campaign for Marion, home of former Blue Knights Deonte Johnson
and Joe Wright.
He was an All-State first-team selection and played in the North/South All-Star Game as well as the City vs. State Classic.

(Jaylen) Reid, the son of Pansy Reid-King and former Charlotte Hornet J.R. Reid,
signed his national letter of intent Monday morning. He made his
decision public by revealing a Tennessee State hat from beneath a table.
Even before Reid averaged 16 points, eight rebounds and two steals per
game, made all-state and played in the Clash of the Carolinas All-Star
game this season, he had a number of options. Winthrop, Jacksonville,
Austin Peay, Southeast Missouri, Miami (OH), Kent State and High Point
all offered scholarships, and the 6-foot-7 wing with NBA bloodlines took
official visits to Peay, Southeast Missouri and Miami. But Tennessee
State coach Travis Williams and his players won over Reid by making him
feel part of the family, which based on Monday's show of support, was a
deal-sealer.
Reid said the Tennessee State players he met on the visit, including a
pair from Columbia, S.C., were "great guys, all of them. I'm just ready
to go play with them."
