A couple weeks ago BS beat Byrnes 4-3. Tonite, they doubled down in a thrilling 2-1 win against the #1 preseason favorite.

Senior Pitcher Calli Richards (volleyball scholar) showed the way. Delivering an absolute gem against the vaunted Rebels. To boot, she delivered a game tying RBI single early.

To grow up with this player. Total athlete. Our town is behind her 100%. We do not get tied down to a particular sport.

Five seniors showed leadership in demeanor. The others stepped up big time.

To be continued. Because of the new 5A format, one more game against Byrnes. In this local town, if you live here long enough, get this and the rest takes care of itself.

Boiling Springs is a work in progress. Have proven they can beat the best, with two senior pitchers. And a 5 senior group. Sure they drop their fair share. But still in the game. And by recent play will be seeded pretty high in the 5A Tourney .

Losses are to Enka, Enka (#1 NC team), Wren (beat later), LE (as noted), Byrnes (up 2 and on top). Super tough pitching by BS. Great defense. Good bats, but have to get more big bats going, to finish.

Thanks for the rankings. BS is up and down. Fortunately hold the Region against #1 Byrnes. I am not sure how the new 5A Tourney works, but glad to be on this side of bracket so far. Glad that the #2 III-5A side should be somewhere else.

Our local town only really cares about our region. The national folks ....?

The tradition is very deep for these 2.

Boiling Springs wins region III-5A (10-1) with one game left against Spartanburg, to get #1 Region seed, and stay home during Districts games if they cover.
