In Bulgaria today Greenville, SC resident Norman Richie Manning competed in the 2017 Veterans World Championships (Veterans Division A) Greco-Roman 70kgs. Richie had a bye in the first round and in the second round defeated Dimitri Platkin (Russia) in a 2-0 decision. In the semi-finals Richie lost a 3-2 decision to the soon to be Gold medalist Azad Alimohammadpour (Iran). This put Manning in the Bronze Medal match which he defeated Milian Maric (Serbia) 5-3.
