Travel Seasons and Ages?

Just curious what your thoughts are as it relates to travels seasons and ages?

Is it a generally accepted principal that girls move up in age going to the fall season even if they don't technically "age up" until the 12/31 deadline?

For example if you had an entire team of girls that HAD to age up after 12/31, but could still play in their current age classification until then, should they go ahead and start playing up at the beginning of the fall season since the seasons run from Fall through Summer of the following year?

Would you say that it upsets other young teams in tournaments to face a team still playing up until the 12/31 deadline with older girls?

Just curious what the thoughts are out there.

My thinking is the fall prepares you for spring. Part of that is not laying back in your current age group getting trophies when all other teams have moved up. Yes other teams will get get mad for example 10U girls move up early and get their rear ends handed to them by 2nd year 12U team that will be 14U Jan 1.

A team that has to move up in January generally goes ahead and moves up for the fall. Unless they are just trophy hunting. Moving up in the fall helps you to get prepared for the coming spring and summer season.
